Covers doctors, hospitals and surgery. It does not cover adult speech therapy, physiotherapy or massage.

DIRECT = we submit the claim for you and you pay only the balance. Otherwise you pay by card and we give you a receipt to submit.
We do work with Sun Life and GreenShield clients — connecting direct billing with them is in progress. Until then you pay by card and claim it back.
Not on the list? You can still work with us — you pay by card and claim it back yourself.
How to check your plan
Three steps. About two minutes.
01Open your benefits app, or email HR
Your insurer’s app, their website, or the benefits booklet from your first day. If that sounds like work, one email to HR gets the same answer by tomorrow.
02Search for “Speech Therapy”
Also written “Speech-Language Pathology”. It sits under paramedical services, next to physiotherapy and massage. Searching “accent” or “public speaking” finds nothing — that is not how your plan names it.
03Write down three numbers
Coverage %, your annual maximum, and any per-visit cap. Put them into the calculator below.
- Coverage %
- How much of each session they pay. Usually 80% or 100%.
- Annual maximum
- Your budget for the year. This is the number that decides how far you get.
- Per-visit cap
- Some plans cap each visit — Canada Life often at $148. Most have none.
Work out your own numbers
Put your three numbers in and see what a session actually costs you.
Worked out against Accent Modification at $170 a session.
Questions people actually ask
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
Almost never. In our practice, this has only come up a few times. If your plan requires one, it says so right under speech therapy.
Do I need a diagnosis?
No. You do not need a medical condition, a disorder, or an assessment from anyone. Your plan pays for speech therapy delivered by a registered SLP.
The plan is my spouse’s, not mine.
That usually works — most plans cover a spouse and dependants. You will need the policy holder’s name, date of birth and certificate number when you sign up.
I have two plans.
We bill the primary one. If it does not cover everything, we send you the explanation of benefits so you can claim the rest from the second plan yourself. We cannot submit to both.
What if direct billing isn’t available for my plan?
If your plan doesn’t support direct billing, or it doesn’t work for your claim, you pay us by card. We give you a receipt so you can submit the claim to your insurer yourself.
What if my coverage runs out mid-programme?
You keep the same rate and pay by card. Most plans reset on January 1, and plenty of people plan around that deliberately.
