B.A., M.Sc., RSLP, ICF-Certified Communication Coach
Sue Wilson is a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist and certified communication coach (ICF) who holds a B.A. in Linguistics and Psychology, and an M.Sc. in Speech Sciences from the University of British Columbia. She has also studied leadership principles at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, ensuring her coaching remains aligned with progressive-edge strategies in executive leadership and professional development.
Early in her career, Sue taught Business English at Kyushu Daigaku University in Fukuoka, Japan, where she partnered with local educational boards to enhance English curricula. That immersive experience—and her subsequent time living in France—deepened her appreciation for cultural influences on communication and the unique challenges adults face when mastering a second language. She has enjoyed studying Japanese, French, and Russian, and continues to nurture her love of cross-cultural exploration.
In addition to her extensive professional background, Sue is a proud citizen of the BC Métis Nation. She is honored to support Indigenous leaders across the province with executive coaching that respects and integrates cultural values and community-driven leadership approaches. Drawing upon her own heritage helps Sue create a deeper sense of connection with her clients, fostering inclusive, holistic strategies that lead to meaningful growth.
Certified in PESL (Pronouncing English as a Second Language), Sue tailors her methods to each client's needs—whether refining speech for boardroom presentations, honing negotiation skills, or navigating pivotal career changes. To stay at the forefront of technology, Sue has partnered with a specialized tech team to develop an exclusive accent-modification app, providing her clients with a dynamic, interactive environment for practicing targeted sounds and receiving real-time feedback.
Outside of her work, Sue indulges her passion for travel and cultural immersion, always seeking to broaden her understanding of the world through first-hand experiences. She has lived in both Asia and Europe, journeyed through Mexico and Central America, and ventured as far as Australia and New Zealand—each destination offering new perspectives on language, culture, and human connection. These experiences continue to shape her approach to coaching and communication, fostering a deep empathy and a truly global mindset.
